23 Feb PORT OF POOLE MARITIME INDUSTRIAL CLUSTER AWARDED SHARE OF £6M LOCAL INDUSTRIAL DECARBONISATION PLAN FUNDING
Poole Harbour Commissioners has been successful in its application to the Local Industrial Decarbonisation Plans Funding Competition run by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero in collaboration with Innovate Uk – UK Research and Innovation.
The Local Industrial Decarbonisation Plans (LIDP) competition is providing up to £6 million in grant funding to support dispersed industrial manufacturers not located in the UK’s existing industrial clusters to decarbonise and reduce their emissions. The competitive grant funding will support the advancement of place-based decarbonisation plans that demonstrate collaboration between closely located industrial businesses, and other stakeholders.
PHC will be working in collaboration with 7 other partners including BCP Council, Brittany Ferries, Bournemouth University’s Centre for Sustainable Business Transformations, Condor Ferries, Jenkins Marine, SMS Group and Sunseeker International, and maritime consultants Royal Haskoning DHV, to develop a Decarbonisation Plan for the Port of Poole centred around the Port of Poole estate. The project will develop a baseline emissions inventory and a set of targets and project options for reducing emissions.
