If you’re planning on visiting Poole Harbour, you’ll likely be looking for information on transport links to and around the harbour. The good news is that Poole Harbour can be easily reached on foot, by bike, car or public transport with excellent links to the town centre and surrounding areas. There are cycle links to the national cycle network, and the majority of ferry operators will permit you to take your bike on board.
If you’re arriving by car, the A31 links Poole to the M27 and from there to the M3 onwards to London. Alternatively, there are links to Bristol (A350) and Dorchester and Exeter (A35). The ferry terminal itself is just a 30-35 minute walk to Poole Town Centre as well as the nearby train and bus stations. Plus, several bus routes can be taken to reach the harbour such as the M1/ M2 (More Buses) and the 1a, 2 and 33 (Yellow Buses).
You can also arrive by sea either by private boat or ferry from the Channel Islands, Cherbourg (Normandy, France) or Saint-Malo (Brittany, France). Finally, there is a complimentary shuttle service to take passengers from the terminal to the ferry.
