Set Sail for the Fifth Annual Poole Harbour Boat Show coming this June

Coming soon to Poole Harbour is the fifth annual Poole Harbour Boat Show in association with Sunseeker. Here at Poole Harbour Commissioners, were excited at the prospect of this exhilarating show making its return to our shores. Set to take place from the 7th to the 9th June from its award-winning home, the Poole Quay Boat Haven, the event is expected to attract tens of thousands of boat enthusiasts.

Our team are proud to be the ones organising such a prestigious event that just happens to be the largest, FREE to attend boat show on the South Coast.

This year, the show has adopted a theme that is intended to encourage more people to get out on the water. In particular, the event looks to encourage younger people through a wide range of activities from workshops taking place on The Tall Ships to ‘Try a Boat’ taster sessions and more. For kids, there are Rockley water sports to enjoy. For those who wish to keep their feet planted firmly on dry land, there is a whole host of celebrity style yachts, motor cruisers, tall ships and more to see.

Families are welcome with a dedicated picnic area complete with a sandpit for the kids to enjoy – there may even be a spot of treasure hunting too! We’re committed to providing the best free family entertainment for 2019 so visitors can expect a live music stage featuring a line-up of bands, choirs and entertainment.

To say that we’re excited to be once again hosting this marvellous show would be an understatement. Poole has such a rich maritime history, and the Poole Harbour Boat Show is a wonderful way to celebrate all that it has to offer.

Our three-day extravaganza will be officially kicked off by none other than successful sailor and marine journalist Pip Hare. Pip Hare truly has our admiration as she is an individual who is determined to break records and has made ambitious plans for the year ahead and beyond. She’ll be competing in the Vendee Globe – regarded as the world’s toughest yacht race.

This will take place in 2020 as she attempts to single-handedly race a 60ft boat around the world non-stop alongside 30 other international skippers. We wish her the best of luck and if you’d like to track the progress of this impressive woman make sure you check out her website www.piphareoceanracing.com.
