PS WAVERLEY: THE LAST SEA-GOING PADDLE STEAMER MAKES A VISIT TO THE PORT OF POOLE

PHC are thrilled to welcome PS  Waverley, the world’s last sea-going paddle steamer, to the Port of Poole for a number of scenic trips along the South Coast, including routes to Southampton, the Isle of Wight and Swanage.

Launched in 1947, Waverley was originally built to replace a vessel lost during the Dunkirk evacuation and today, she stands as a symbol of British maritime heritage.

2024 marks a special milestone for PS Waverley as it celebrates its 50th anniversary of being saved for preservation. In 1974, at the end of her working life, she was gifted to the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society for £1.

PS Waverley’s ongoing operation is made possible by passionate volunteers and ongoing restoration efforts.
