03 Mar FANTASTIC MORNING FOR POOLE SEA CADETS ABOARD HMS CATTISTOCK

Thirty cadets and six volunteers from Poole Sea Cadets were welcomed aboard HMS Cattistock while alongside at the Port of Poole last Saturday.
From firefighting and damage control drills to exploring the dive chamber and stepping onto the Bridge, cadets experienced a real insight into life in the Royal Navy, getting hands-on with the controls and learning about the specialist equipment that keeps the vessel mission ready. An invaluable opportunity for young people aged 10 to 18 to build confidence, practical skills and teamwork.
HMS Cattistock was awarded the Freedom of Poole in 2024, a proud recognition of the close and enduring relationship between ship and town.
At Poole Harbour Commissioners, many of our team volunteer their time to support the Sea Cadets, and several colleagues first began their own maritime journey as cadets before going on to develop their careers with PHC.
We are proud to see Poole Harbour continue to provide opportunities that inspire the next generation of maritime professionals.
