Security Afloat

The Harbour Master’s team work with other yacht clubs, marinas and boatyards through Poole Harbour Watch, in support of Dorset Police, who lead the resposnse to marine crime taking place in the harbour.

PHC’s seasonal Harbour Patrols and the oversight of Poole VTS are focused on ensuring safety of life, navigation and the environment whilst facilitating enjoyable and efficient movement of craft of all sizes.  That said, they will support Dorset Police and organisations/persons affected by marine crime where able with deterrence patrols and also provision of access to our widespread CCTV network and other recordings (including Radar) during police investigations.

Poole Harbour Watch is run and managed by boat owners and clubs within the approaches and confines of Poole Harbour and surrounding shoreline.

They operate by carrying out patrols, both day and night and liaising with the bodies that serve our Marine environment.
